ZogoTech will be giving two presentations at AIR.

• Wednesday, 2:40-3:20 pm, Sheraton 3, Level 4: a general overview of data warehousing and ZogoTech's approach (led by Michael Taft from ZogoTech)

• Thursday, 2:10 pm-2:50 pm Chicago 8, Level 4: an in-depth look at how one IR department is using Estudias to produce and analyze retention and graduation data in an intervention program coordinated with faculty and student services (led by Dr. Darline Morris from Texas State Technical College)

E26 Data Warehousing: Only the First Step

This session will discuss the advantages of data warehousing, deciding whether to build or buy, common pitfalls and examples. We will discuss why using ZogoTech's approach has a far higher success rate, is quicker and much less expensive than traditional approaches. We will discuss metadata management, data quality, and security.

We will look at examples from our flagship product, Estudias, showing longitudinal cohort tracking, and ad-hoc querying and reporting. We will see how data warehousing is only the first step in consolidating a school's information for security and effective reporting.

This session will give a demonstration of the data warehouse Texas State Technical College Waco has deployed in partnership with ZogoTech. Texas State Technical College Waco worked with ZogoTech to develop tools for producing and analyzing retention and graduation data. This session will take an in-depth look at how those tools fit into an overall intervention program coordinated between student services, faculty, and the role of IR in these efforts (see full outline and handouts).
